Selling and property records
GOV.UK’s How to sell a home covers the England-and-Wales process and common document needs. HM Land Registry offers title and sold-price information for those nations. Scotland and Northern Ireland use different property registration arrangements.
Use the appropriate register and a local conveyancer where proof of ownership or a legal copy is needed. Our price lookup is for context, not title verification.
Tax and energy requirements
HMRC explains tax on a home sale, Private Residence Relief and reporting CGT. An inherited estate, trust or company has different rules from an individual. Check the source that fits the taxpayer.
Official EPC services explain marketing requirements and exemptions. Our lookup covers England and Wales and marks calculated expiry dates as estimates.
Mortgage trouble and impartial advice
GOV.UK explains repossession procedures, with differences by nation. MoneyHelper, Citizens Advice, StepChange and Shelter provide independent help or routes to support.
If proceedings have started, do not rely on a buyer’s promise to stop them. Contact your lender and an adviser promptly and keep court dates visible.
